Happy Thanksgiving!

Meet Biju: College-educated and thriving

Biju Kumar graduated from college and moved to Dubai. After ten years, he moved home to Kerala, India. He worked in construction, building roofs, and through this job, met Anil, and did some roofing projects for us.

Heartbreaking Betrayal

Biju decided to invest his money into a cloth business, and his wife managed it while he worked on houses. Life was good, and they were getting financially stable, but his wife had a terrible plan. One day, a lawyer informed Biju that his wife had taken the business, the money, and wanted a divorce. He was broken. Everything was gone. He thought about ending his life because the loss and shame were so great. He couldn’t see any hope.

Finding a ray of light when everything felt like darkness

Biju called a staff member at EAV and shared the situation. He arrived at our rehabilitation center, and our staff welcomed him. He started building houses for our goats and chickens and the asola plants, and so much more.

Biju also helped us take care of patients.

He watched the leprosy patients pray and worship God and started attending prayer time, and slowly started reading his Bible.

One day he said, “I want to know more about Jesus,” because he saw the joy in the lives of our patients and staff that walked with him during this difficult season.

Biju’s desire to know the real God grew, and he was born again.

He says, “If I didn’t find God in my life, there was no future for me. God has given me new life and the rest of my life, I want to serve God by serving the leprosy victims till the end of my last breath. Now I commit my entire life to God. I lived my 47 years without knowing the real God but now I have a God who will take care of my future. Please continue to pray for me.”

On the Blog in November

This month, we’ve shared about staff members, Mercy and Sunil’s son, Jobin on the blog called, From Missionary Kid to Italian Car Designer.

You also won’t want to miss Jay’s story. He was given days to live, and now eight years later, he leads our prayer and worship!

Thank you for being part of our ministry whether that’s praying for us, sewing into the work God is doing, or following along and sharing with friends and family. We are so grateful. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
