His Parent’s Dream of a Bright Future for Kavin
Kavin lives with his family in the Thalaivasal leprosy colony. He is the seven-year-old grandson of a leprosy patient we serve, and since Kavin’s parents do not have regular jobs, they struggle to provide nutritious food and proper education for their children.
They find it helpful to send Kavin and his two sisters to our after-school program called Little Lights. As we’ve gotten to know Kavin, we’ve seen how much he loves playing with his friends, and like most kids his age, he enjoys sports more than his studies right now.
Our after-school tutors help him concentrate on his studies and foster his love for sports too. They shared that Kavin likes learning new songs, and during Sunday school, he always wants to learn a new song – and learns it quickly!
We often have parents tell us that one of the reasons their children are so healthy is because of the nutritious food we provide for them five days a week. We’re grateful to help provide meals, assist kids with their studies, and help them discover God’s love for them.
Kavin’s parents are so happy with this program, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to help him grow, excel, and dream of life outside the colonies.
