In the quiet hills of Deviyakurichi, a leprosy colony in Tamil Nadu, lives Lukas—a man whose story reflects the very heart of Embrace a Village. Twenty years ago, Lukas and his wife came to the colony seeking refuge after leprosy separated them from their community. What they found was not only safety, but hope that would change their lives forever.
Through the faithful service of Embrace a Village, Lukas received much-needed medical care, nutrition, and spiritual support. But more importantly, he discovered something deeper—a love that saw beyond his suffering.
He often shares, “I wouldn’t have known the love of Jesus if I was not a leprosy victim.”
For Lukas, the pain of leprosy became the doorway to a transforming grace.
When Joe, our CEO, visited Tamil Nadu recently, Lukas held his hand tightly and said with emotion,
