Some miracles happen in a single moment.
Others happen one faithful visit at a time.
That is Antony Samy’s story.
At seventy-two years old, Antony has lived with leprosy for most of his life. The disease slowly took every finger on both of his hands and permanently damaged his feet. Yet it never took away something even more valuable—his dignity.
Unlike many people forced into begging because of leprosy, Antony continued living quietly with his wife in a small village in Tamil Nadu. Together they survived on a modest government pension that rarely stretched far enough to cover even the basics. Each month brought the same question:
“Will there be enough?”
Several years ago, Embrace a Village met Antony during one of our regular village outreach visits.
That first visit wasn’t the end of the story.
It was the beginning.
Since then, every month, rice has been delivered to his home. Every year, he receives specially designed MCR protective shoes that help prevent serious foot injuries caused by nerve damage from leprosy. Medical care continues. Encouragement continues. Friendship continues.
When our team visited again recently, Antony’s smile said everything.
His gratitude wasn’t simply for the rice.
It wasn’t only for the shoes.
It was because someone remembered.
For those who have spent years feeling invisible, faithfulness is life-changing.
One visit says, “We care.”
Years of returning say,
“You are family.”
This is what your prayers and generosity make possible.
Not one-time kindness.
Lifelong compassion.
Every bag of rice says,
“You matter.”
Every pair of shoes says,
“Your life is worth protecting.”
Every visit says,
“You have not been forgotten.”
The Gospel is often shared through words.
But sometimes it is shared through consistency.
Through people willing to come back month after month.
Year after year.
Because that’s exactly what Christ has done for us.
