As a young man, Abraham worked alongside his father selling fish. Sadly, life changed drastically when he discovered white patches on his skin. His dreams slid to a halt, and life was filled with doctor visits and searching for answers.
He was eventually diagnosed with leprosy, and his face was most impacted. Abraham felt alone and knew he couldn’t stay in his village due to the stigma, so he left home and started begging.

Years went by, and then one day Embrace a Village visited his village. We provided him with free bandages and rice. During our visits, we shared messages of faith and hope, and Abraham experienced a personal spiritual renewal that filled his heart with joy.
Abraham says, “As long as I live, I will continue to give thanks to God, because He has given me joy when I thought my life was over. God has given me a new beginning and renewed hope for the future.”
Now 65 years old, he lives in a leprosy colony with his wife, Anna, and their daughter, Mary. Abraham is a man known for his joy and for faithfully praying for others. We are so blessed by him! Below is a picture of Abraham with a staff kid named Crystal. We are so thankful for them both! You can read more stories about the work God is doing through EAV here.

There are many others who need medical help and nutrition and who are deeply seeking hope, spiritual encouragement, and renewed purpose in their lives.
