Dear Friends and Family,

Anyone who knows Tess knows how much she loves children. Sharing the love of Jesus and looking into their magical faces brought her great joy. Tess believed the true meaning of life was in seeing the eyes of children light up with the understanding that they are precious to Jesus. She was in awe of their willingness to accept God’s great love into their hearts despite the darkness they may be facing. She lived her life for these moments. On May 2nd 2014, Tess went to heaven to be with her Savior after a taxi accident in Coimbatore.

We are honored to be able to continue supporting Tess’s love for children through a memorial set up by Embrace A Village in her name. On her last trip to India for her anniversary in January 2014, Tess met with Anil and Rose Kumar, two Embrace A Village employees. At the time, they were in the beginning stages of building a children’s home in Coimbatore where Tess’s husband Shankar lives. Embrace A Village is an organization based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA that exists to help transform the lives of leprosy victims and their families. Their mission is to bring Jesus Christ’s message of hope and healing to the people of India. We first learned about Embrace A Village through the movie “This Is Our Time”, and our hearts were touched by their ministry. We were so surprised when we found out Embrace A Village was building the “Little Lights Children’s Home” right there in Coimbatore and because of this, Tess and Shankar were able to visit and learn all about the children’s home with Anil and some of the other Embrace A Village team members. The visit was a great day of fellowship. I can remember Tess telling me about the peace she and Shankar felt throughout their day there. While the children did not yet live in the home, as it was in the process of being completed, Tess was confident that it would be a wonderful place for the children to live. She could already see the love and excitement the entire Embrace A Village team had for the children they would be caring for.

The home is now near completion, and soon there will be children filling it with their beautiful faces. Embrace A Village founders Joe Clendenny and Jack Kennedy will be going to Coimbatore at the end of the month for the grand opening. Tess was looking forward to joining the team when they came to see this beautiful site, but I know she will watch it all from Heaven. What a view! 🙂 Please join with our family as we honor Tess’s life by honoring these beautiful children. Embrace A Village also has monthly support for children if you would like to continue your support. I look forward to the day we can visit the site of the children’s home in India and see those magical faces up close. Thank you everyone for all your prayers and comfort to our family. And thank you my precious son Shankar for sharing your beautiful home, family, and people with us. Please keep our dear Shankar in your prayers for peace and hope to fill his days. We love him and our India family so much. I will end with words from our savior.

1. James 1:27
2. External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.
3. 1 John 3:1
4. See what [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are!
This is my dear sweet Tessy, this was her desire here on earthto love and care for others and show them , tell them, write them about how truly loved and precious and beautifulthey are to their creator. Her desire was for all the world to truly know the Fathers love for them a love that even death can not take from us. I know she is rejoicing in heaven for each of these little ones who are and will continue to be loved with the love of Jesus.

Thank you,

Tess’s Mommy
